With the official release of macOS Mojave, it immediately available in beta mode for some time. Further on, it was entirely released for Mac users to download it directly from the App Store and upgrade or do a clean installation of Mojave right away. This is pretty easy, though, on a Mac. They had to go to App Store and search for Mojave and click on Get to begin download.
But as a Windows user, if you want to download Mojave specifically for VirtualBox or VMware Workstation or Player and install it on your Windows computer, the process is no like that. If you wish to install Mojave, you would obviously need the Mojave image, particularly the virtual machine first, which is not available at the Microsoft Store or access to App Store. Even if you have access to a Mac, you could download it from there, but it would be of no use for installing Mojave on your Windows computer. Related: Install MacOS Mojave On VMware On Windows PC

I upgraded my iMac Late 2013 yesterday to BigSur. Everything went fine and it is working perfectly well. Now when trying to install the latest update (12.0.1), it is downloading, then rebooting and come back at the exact same step (ask to download Monterey and Install). Is there anything I need to do to make it work?
The weird thing is that the installer downloaded from here a few days ago, but the SHA256 sum is completely different. I have a hash sum of the file:SHA256 (Install_macOS_12.0-21A5534d.dmg) = e87d1ac8e8fe8a144ac40c8e5e35847a4e6e8459e6be0cffd09b82871ccaa941
How did you install from InstallAssistant.pkg? If i install from InstallAssistant.pkg I only get a 32 MB Application Installer which complaints that it need to download additional content, which is not possible.
Thank you Thomas, I will edit that section to clarify that the USB installer part is broken. Quick question, did it install pretty quickly or did the install part before it restarted take a while like it was downloading?
As far as I know, the only way to properly create a bootable Lion disc/disk is to use Disk Utility on a working Mac. However, the other option is to use a Virtualbox VM to run OS X temporarily (scroll down for that info).
Hit the Options button under the partition table and choose "GUID Partition Table". You'll need this to make the drive bootable on a Mac. Hit the Apply button when you're done to format your drive (note: it will erase everything on the drive). 2b1af7f3a8
